Preserving Sacred Indian Music Since 2008
From a young boy's dream at age 5 to a global music school teaching 200+ students across 25 countries—this is the story of Krishna Music School, Pushkar
Meet the FounderThe Journey: From Student to Master Teacher
The Beginning
Founded by Vini Devda in sacred Pushkar, Rajasthan. After learning Indian Classical Music since age 5 (35+ years of musical journey) and training under traditional gurukul system by master musicians, Vini had a vision: make authentic Indian music accessible to global learners while preserving traditional teaching methods.
Started with 1-on-1 tabla lessons for travelers visiting Pushkar's spiritual landscape. Word-of-mouth reputation grew organically through student testimonials and transformative experiences.
Expanding Horizons
Expanded from tabla-only to multiple instruments: harmonium, sitar, vocals, dholak, and percussion. Student base grew from local travelers to international musicians seeking authentic training.
Launched Chokhi Vini Project Folk Band in 2015—the performance wing serving hotels, weddings, and cultural events across Rajasthan.
Going Global Online
Began online classes serving international students who couldn't travel to Pushkar. Perfected remote teaching methodology using Zoom, WhatsApp practice videos, and structured digital curriculum—without losing traditional gurukul essence.

What Drives Us
Preserve Tradition
Authentic Teaching
Maintaining traditional gurukul methods where music is taught as oral tradition, not just from books. One-on-one attention, repetition, ear training, and deep cultural context. We honor centuries-old teaching lineages while making them accessible to modern learners.
Global Accessibility
Break Geographic Barriers
Online classes make authentic Indian music accessible worldwide. Same quality instruction whether you're in California or Calcutta. Flexible scheduling across all time zones. Sacred knowledge shouldn't be limited by geography.
Judgment-Free Learning
All Are Welcome
Age, background, prior experience don't matter. We've taught 8-year-olds and 65-year-old retirees. Beginners and professionals. Everyone starts where they are, progresses at their pace. Music is a birthright, not a privilege.
Sacred Pushkar: Where Spirituality Meets Music
The Sacred Town
Pushkar is one of India's oldest and most sacred towns—mentioned in ancient Hindu scriptures. Home to the only Brahma Temple in the world, holy Pushkar Lake, and 500+ temples. Pilgrims visit for spiritual awakening; musicians come for its transcendent creative energy.
Rangji Temple - Our Home
Our school operates from the 180-year-old Rangji Temple complex—peaceful, away from tourist chaos. Students consistently mention:
- Spiritual atmosphere enhances learning
- Quiet surroundings perfect for concentration
- Early morning classes with temple bells in background
- Walking distance from Pushkar Lake for sunset practice sessions
Pushkar's Musical Heritage
For centuries, Pushkar has been a gathering place for musicians, sadhus, and artists. The famous Pushkar Camel Fair features traditional Rajasthani folk music. We're part of this living heritage—keeping traditions alive for the next generation.
